Art Update K-5

K........finishing up a 4 week unit on Vincent Van Gogh with focuses on history, expressions shown through art images and drawing and painting techniques

1st.....finishing up a review from K of Vincent's life, work, types of images and more advanced drawing skills and painting techniques (2 weeks)

2nd....finishing up deep underwater scenes using clear overlapping skills with oil pastels and new painting techniques to create a blending of the cool colors for the water

3rd....an ongoing study of animals, the shapes that form their parts and the direction of the lines that make them continues, 2-dimentionally with brown paper, paint, colored pencils and markers and 3-dimentionally with clay, good techniques and choices are stressed

4th....Ancient Egypt continues, gold paint adds the final touches to the incredible paper mummy cases that each student has designed in 2-D, 3-D clay mummy cases will follow with their mummies inside

5th...the illuminated manuscript letters inspired by the Middle Ages that each student has been working on for the last 5 weeks will be finished and evaluated and reflected upon this next week
